Happy Thanksgiving

Dearest friend,

Even without a traditional Thanksgiving, I can still sit back and reflect on what I am thankful for this year. The Lord has blessed me so much and continues to flood me with His love everyday. I thank the Lord for the struggles I had in my first year of teaching as well as the times He was guiding me toward the place I am now. It was all to show me His love, His grace, His mercy, and to make my faith and trust in Him strong. I thank Him for those times, because now I know to turn to Him in all my ways with all of my heart through the good and the bad, and to give Him all of the praise.

Being here away from my closest family and friends, I am especially thankful for the relationships I have made both here and the other side of the globe. I am blessed to know you and call you my friends we’ve lived and shared our lives together for a season, but you will always be with me. Whether I have told you already or not, you have made an impact on my life! I love you! Thank you always for your thoughts, prayers, encouragement, and support!

There's a First Time For Everything

My First Appearance in a Filipino Newspaper...
That's right I was interviewed and promptly mentioned in this article, from the Philippine Daily Inquirer. Hint the good part is about half way down under the heading of "No More Luxury of Sleep". It's only a small bit, but still kind of special.

My First Baby I Ate....
How can I call myself a true Filipino if I haven't yet eaten Balut? Well I have just remedied that, and I feel gross. What, you don't know what Balut is? Obviously you didn't click on the wikipedia link, so let me summarize. Balut is a fertilized duck egg with a nearly developed embryo inside, boiled and then eaten and enjoyed by many Filipinos. I am not one of those Filipinos. I gave it a try, and now I know it is not for me. So if your feeling adventurous I encourage you to try and eat something that you've never eaten, but are too scared to. Who knows you may find a new favorite food, or most probably you will be disgusted and want to throw up. But I suppose that's where real adventure lies, in doing things you've never done before.

Notice: Hired Help

As I am off saving the world (one child at a time), my blogging has suffered the consequences. Therefore I have asked my favorite bro to help out. So hopefully he can better regularly update you on my adventures. But fear not, I will still pop in now and then to give you my personal account when I have the opportunity.

Ed. note, thank you for having me here. I will prolly write from OTBP's point of view, to avoid further confusion. I hope you enjoy your stay here.
